I am the Founder, CEO, Director of Player Development, and Head Coach of KT Baseball Development. I am committed to helping young baseball players develop stronger fundamentals, greater confidence, a better understanding of the game, and a genuine love for baseball.
My baseball journey began with Ogden City Recreation, where I played from seventh through ninth grade. I later continued playing baseball at Ben Lomond High School. These experiences allowed me to understand the game from a player’s perspective and helped shape the coaching philosophy I use today.
After graduating from high school, I transitioned from playing baseball to coaching youth athletes. Coaching quickly became more than simply teaching players how to hit, throw, field, or pitch. I discovered a passion for helping young athletes understand why they are doing something, develop confidence in themselves, learn from their mistakes, and become better teammates.
That passion ultimately led me to establish KT Baseball Development.
I believe successful player development is about much more than statistics or winning games. Every athlete develops differently, and I believe coaching should recognize and respect those differences.
My coaching approach emphasizes patience, encouragement, accountability, repetition, and age-appropriate instruction. I give players opportunities to learn without being afraid of making mistakes. When something goes wrong, my goal is to identify what happened, teach the proper adjustment, and help the athlete try again with confidence.
I work with players on:
Hitting mechanics and approach
Fielding fundamentals
Throwing mechanics
Pitching fundamentals
Base running
Position-specific development
Baseball IQ and game awareness
Communication and teamwork
Confidence and mental approach
Sportsmanship, discipline, and accountability
When parents choose a coach, they are not simply trusting that person with their child’s baseball development. They are also trusting that coach to create a positive, safe, encouraging, and productive environment.
I take that responsibility seriously.
My goal is not to turn every training session into pressure to perform. Instead, I want players to leave each session feeling that they learned something, improved an area of their game, were appropriately challenged, and are excited to return.
Whether an athlete is picking up a baseball glove for the first time, trying to earn a starting position, preparing for an upcoming season, or working to become a more complete player, I will meet that athlete at their current level and help them build from there.
No two players are exactly alike.
One athlete may need additional help with swing mechanics. Another may need to improve throwing accuracy. Another player may have the physical ability to succeed but struggle with confidence during games.
As Director of Player Development, my responsibility is to identify each athlete’s individual needs and create training opportunities that help them make progress.
My objective is simple:
Develop smarter players. Build stronger fundamentals. Increase confidence. Teach the game the right way.
I believe the lessons learned through baseball can extend far beyond the field.
I emphasize respect, responsibility, teamwork, effort, leadership, resilience, and sportsmanship. I expect players to respect their teammates, opponents, coaches, umpires, families, and the game itself.
Winning matters, but development comes first.
A young athlete’s confidence, character, and enjoyment of baseball should never be sacrificed simply to produce a better score.
When a family chooses KT Baseball Development, I want them to know that their athlete is not simply another name on a roster.
I am committed to getting to know my players, recognizing where they need improvement, celebrating their progress, challenging them appropriately, and helping them become more confident and complete baseball players.
I founded KT Baseball Development because I believe young athletes deserve coaches who are patient enough to teach, passionate enough to care, and committed enough to continue helping when development becomes difficult.
Every player has room to grow.
KT Baseball Development is here to help them take that next step.
